How should a bracelet fit?

How should a bracelet fit? Whether you're buying a bracelet for yourself, a friend or a partner, you certainly want it to fit as well as possible. Just like when it comes to necklaces, bracelets can come in all sorts of sizes, but here it's important to choose one that can't slip over your hand and get lost.

How big a bracelet you should choose depends, among other things, on what style you have, but also on what type of bracelet it is. If it is a bracelet with a soft chain, it should not be too loose, because then there is a risk of it slipping off the hand. If, on the other hand, it is a rigid bracelet, it is after all important that you can actually get your hand through, while at the same time it should not be able to fall off.

How should a stiff bracelet fit?

A rigid bracelet should never fit too tightly against your wrist, but should be airy enough for you to get your hand through. Many rigid bracelets are equipped with an opening or a cuff that allows you to put it on more easily, but this is not the case for all. If you can test the bracelet before you make your purchase, it is recommended. Otherwise, you should measure the circumference and then add 2 cm.

How big should bracelets be?

A good way to measure how big your bracelet should be is by measuring your wrist and then adding 1.5-2 cm. If, on the other hand, you want the bracelet to sit quite loose, you can advantageously add 3 cm to your own measurements. However, this only applies to loose bracelets, e.g. chains and straps. You can tie or fasten these around your wrist, without having to pull the chain over your hand to be able to put the bracelet on.
